we are finished.

we moved everything in on saturday. it took about 20 hours, but we got it done. now we have lots of fun ahead as we try to un-pack...

update for this crazy week.

neil and i closed on our house on monday at 10 am. then we went to the house and danced around for a while. next, we went to home depot where we got a dishwasher and a hot water heater. we installed the hot water heater on tuesday evening after work. i held the flashlight. and i got to do some screws on the electrical panel, too. i know what a compression fitting is now.
being a homeowner is fun already. yay!! i spent much of my free time (and a bit of work time, too) calling utility companies and getting everything set-up. so that was super fun. we are moving in this weekend, and we are so excited. i want to start moving things tonight after work, but neil and his step-dad mario are going to be working on fixing a few leaks that we discovered when they came to turn the water on yesterday. so i may just be driving car-loads back and forth tonight, i guess we'll see how that goes. i love moving. hmmm...what else?? i'm getting a new dog, too. i am waiting to get an appointment with the lady we have adopted the cats from, because she is a foster mom for kittens and puppies from the humane society. i also have a lot of laundry to do, but i am looking forward to doing it at my own house, rather than washing any more at ray and jessica's condo where we have been staying for the last 6 months. more updates after the moving is done!!! yay!! tomorrow morning i will be hanging out at the house waiting for the direct tv guy and for the dishwasher to be delivered, too. wheeeee. then i will be free to help move things!! whoooppeeee!!

well, tomorrow is halloween, and we are getting really excited. neil and beau are going to be bill and ted...and i am going to be a devil. it should be a pretty fun time, as it always is every year. and neil and i are going trick or treating with rachel, my little lion cub, and her niece and nephew too...gotta get some candy!!!!! i will post pictures ASAP. hope everyone else has a great one too!!

my surgery...

it's done. i am doing well. overall, it was pretty fast and mostly painless. in fact, i would say it hurt less than getting my nose pierced!! so that's a plus, if you ask me. mom was worse off than i was at times, as she is quite squemish. she saw the needle for the local, and pretty much looked away after that. and i even was allowed to patisipate by holding the tube to the smoke evacutator. i did a great job as my own medical assistant!! anyway, nothing much to report, really. i am healing, and my next appointment is in 3 months. until then, i am laying low. neil and i are house-sitting for my boss this weekend, so it should be a pretty good time.

well, we at kinda at a stopping point with the house right now...th inspector revealed that the roof is shot. that's about a $7000 repair. and with the exception of one room, all other electrical outlets are un-grounded. and the hot water heater is dead, for sure. so we basically turn in all these estimates to our relator and he goes to the seller's agent with these issue...but because the hosue is listed "as is" that means they are not going to fix anything...but hopefully will either shave some moeny off the seeling price or credit us the money at closing. so that's that...

i have my surgery this week, so i am under a lot of stress due to that coming on. plus with all this house stuff going on, too...i'm exhaused, and i went to be around 6 pm last night...woke up at 8, ate some food and went back to sleep. i had lots of weird dreams though, all night long. oh well.

we went to mom's this weekend b/c sara was in town. things went the way they usually do when we all get together--sara has fits, yells and acts like a brat...mom and i try to cal mher down and talk to her, not to tmention help her--to no avail. times like those remind me why it is better for me to live a distance from the two of them. it sucks--family can make you crazy.

rachel and leo came over on saturday morning, so that was a fun visit, at least. leo is getting so big!! he's going to be eating real foods soon!! and i got him the cutest little pair of camo sweatpants!! adorable.

that's about all really. i am bitchy b/c i am not having soda. and i need my caffine/sugar fix!!!!!!!
grrrrrrrrr. just wanna be left alone until i feel better about the world today.

house inspection day.

today we have our inspection scheduled for 4 pm. so i will be heading outta work to go do that this afternoon. i'm sure it will be tons of fun, but it will give me a chance to take lots of pictures of the inside of the house--so i will be posting those tomorrow, hopefully!! i really hope that all will go well with the inspection, and the termite inspection we have next week, too. if we can get everything ready, we may even get to close earlier than the 13th!! how great would that be? i can't wait.

Home-owners???

Well, after one week of having a realtor, we have found a house we really liked...We put in our first offer, it was countered, we did a second offer, which was (unofficially) accepted--as long as we can close by November 13. whooooooooow. It's crazy!! So...We have been pretty excited all weekend long. I brought my camera fishing last night, and forgot it at home, so I will post some photos from our visit to the house after signing the contract. yay!! I am so excited to move and not have to move again until we leave Florida. One less thing to worry about!!

I have scheduled my surgery for the 26 of this month to get it over with. I'm ready to just get this whole process moving along, really. And I am much calmer now thanks to my great friends and family!! So many stories I have heard lately have given me hope that this is just a minor glitch, despite my own reservations. Hopefully I will soon be posting how not-that-bad the whole procedure was!! I'm thinking positive.

that's about all for now, really. Although, there is so much to be done now!! Neil has his whole studio to pack up, and we have to get inspections on the house, and get everything in order for the closing date. phew!! Being an "adult" is exhausting sometimes!!!!! Oh---and we will most curtaining be having a big house-warming party, so get ready for that news to roll-out pretty soon as well. Oh--and I am getting a dog when we move, too!! I am so excited. There is a fenced-in backyard that I just can't wait to get a little baby dog!! Then my little farm will be complete, although there is just one more animal that I want: a leopard gecko. They are so cute!! Anyway, enough of all that...

I almost forget to say that I cooked up the best green beans known to man this weekend. Thanks to Mrs. Paula dean and her delicious recipe!! Yummy.

Current mood: scared

i am writing this in hopes that it will help me feel better. my mom and neil know already...so yeah. i got my test results back from my doctor. i have moderate dysplasia, also called CIN II. this means that i have abnormal, precancerous cells in my cervix. my gyno will perorm a laser treatment to vaporize the abnormal cells...and this apparently has a much faster healing time than a freezing procedure that used to be more commonplace. but the best part is that even after all this, it can just keep coming back. so i will be having pap smears every 3 months for the next year to ensure that the abnormalities aren't returning. so even if i get rid of it, i am really not getting rid of it. i am so scared and freaked out. i've never been under, and i've never had a surgery or really any medical procedures. i guess i've been lucky until now. now i am just sitting here at work, staring into space, trying to regain my composure. this was not the news i was expecting.
