merry xmas and all that jazz.

neil and i had a great christmas. it was another one of our great all day experiences, shuffling from one parent's home to another to another. phew! exhausting!! but we had a great time with everyone and we are really looking forward to the house warming party so we will get a chance to get everyone together in one place with us! :-) and neil's mom and mario gave us a super cool grill, so we cannot wait to fire it up! we got the propane tank yesterday, so we are getting party-ready already!! invites will be in the mail this week, so be looking for that in your mailbox soon. although i rpomised pictures, it was yet another occassion where i did not follow-through, despite my best efforts. it is so hard to stop in the moments and snap pictures, you know?? oh well. i'll survive somewhow. it's cold here today. i am excited, especially because i know it won't last at all!! good old florida. sheesh!! otherwise, we are just spending time with all our friends that are in town for the holidays. it's fun. and i think that this new year is going to be the best one of my life, so far, that is. i don't know why i have that feeling, maybe i read it in one of my horoscopes?? i know--i'm nuts.

Buisness as Usual.

I haven't taken any new photos that are worth posting this week, so just a little update.

My cousin Kayla had her baby yesterday--Molly. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces. I haven't seen any pictures yet, but eveyone has been saying that she is cute as a button. Kayla is doing well, and will be in the hospital until Friday or Saturday. It's pretty exciting. Now my Grandma is a great, my mom and my aunts are greats...and I'm a second? Hmmm, like Robyn said--us cousins got short-changed in this deal!!

Neil and I finally made the housewarming party invitations, so after we get all the copies made tonight, I will be making the envelopes and getting them mailed out as well.

Tonight we are going to "wrap up" our Christmas Shopping, all puns intended. I am looking forward to that! Hopefully Neil and I can get plenty of sleep on Christmas Eve, because it is rough on us having to bustle through 3 different locations and celebrations!! WHEW!

Tomorrow I am going back to see my doctor to get a referral to a neurologist. I got another migraine on Monday night, and I have tried both medications that I was given to test out, with no results. I guess it is back to the drawing board with my brain. I just need some relief at this point. I am finally feeling better today, but I have been sleeping a lot all week because the migraines just wipe me out. It used to be that I felt bad the next day, but now it is getting to the point that it takes several days to get back to feeling myself.

Next month is my first check up with the laser procedure that was done on my cervix in October, so I am hoping that will go well. I am trying not to get my hopes up too high, though. because I have been warned that it is common to have abnormal test results for the first few check-ups while the area continues to heal itself.

Other than that, things are buisness as usual. I will have more exciting pictures after the holidays, I am sure!!

xoxo,
~Dana.

doggie!

we finally made it out to the humane society on saturday, and after 4 hours we adopted a great dog. he is black, a black lab mix...and he is so cute and cuddly. his previous parents were in the air force and we deployed to iraq, so they had to move suddenly, and dogs are not allowed on the base, so they had to surrender him and another dog to the humane society. he is very well-mannered, so it is evident that they did an exellent job traning and loving him in the 4 years that they had him. i will be taking so pictures of him tonight to post. with the holiday weekend and the ever-lasting un-packing, there just was no time for much this weekend. the kitties are none-too-pleased about milo. but i am sure they will be cool in a few more days. sally acted like she hated the kitten at first too, and she got over that soon enough. i am not expecting a best friendship between the species, just overall tolereance for everyone. so although my little zoo lost one...my little brown mouse sylvester (vestie) died the friday before the move, i have also gained one now. i'll be on a break from pets for a while now, but there is one more that i desire: a leopard gecko. they are so neat. anyway, i am so happy about my doggie that i can't think about wanting anyhting else right now. the house is coming along...although we are getting a bit tired of working on it, all day, every day. so even though i didn't want to come to work today, it is nice to be doing something other than hauling stuff all over the house. yes sir. the house warming party is going to be in two weeks, so i will be posting an invite soon for that!! keep your eyes open for that one. neil and i will be going through all of our stuff so that we can find out what we are missing or what needs replacing as far as household goods go. i am still going with a pink kitchen, despite everyone's dismay. i have learned in the past that all of my most genius plans start out with lots of rebellion from others, so i am confidant that this will just be another case of that. (haha) well, our thanksgiving was great, and i hope your was too. can't wait for the new year, and to see santa because i have been a really good girl this year...

update for this crazy week.

neil and i closed on our house on monday at 10 am. then we went to the house and danced around for a while. next, we went to home depot where we got a dishwasher and a hot water heater. we installed the hot water heater on tuesday evening after work. i held the flashlight. and i got to do some screws on the electrical panel, too. i know what a compression fitting is now.
being a homeowner is fun already. yay!! i spent much of my free time (and a bit of work time, too) calling utility companies and getting everything set-up. so that was super fun. we are moving in this weekend, and we are so excited. i want to start moving things tonight after work, but neil and his step-dad mario are going to be working on fixing a few leaks that we discovered when they came to turn the water on yesterday. so i may just be driving car-loads back and forth tonight, i guess we'll see how that goes. i love moving. hmmm...what else?? i'm getting a new dog, too. i am waiting to get an appointment with the lady we have adopted the cats from, because she is a foster mom for kittens and puppies from the humane society. i also have a lot of laundry to do, but i am looking forward to doing it at my own house, rather than washing any more at ray and jessica's condo where we have been staying for the last 6 months. more updates after the moving is done!!! yay!! tomorrow morning i will be hanging out at the house waiting for the direct tv guy and for the dishwasher to be delivered, too. wheeeee. then i will be free to help move things!! whoooppeeee!!

ode to tricia.

2 more wonderful cousins, although i must say that i am somewhat partial to red-heads, being that i myself am one currently.

tricia and kristy. i first fully understood my true gift of the gab after summers in ohio, talking tricia to sleep.

xoxo.
